The Ontario Cancer Institute (OCI) is a world leader in several cancer-related research fields, consistently publishing high impact discoveries. Its research activities are concentrated on epigenomics, cancer immunotherapy, cancer stem cells, image-guided therapeutics, patient survivorship, and personalized medicine.

A bioinformatics Postdoctoral Fellow position is available immediately within our group. We offer an interdisciplinary research environment with exciting challenges on novel biological data and leading-edge expertise in one of today's most dynamic scientific disciplines. We are looking for people that are highly qualified and motivated to join our interdisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications:
• Recent PhD in Bioinformatics or related areas;
• At least one first author paper in an international peer reviewed journal;
• Experience in analyzing high throughput (epi)genomics datasets including ChIP-seq and RNA-seq;
• Programming skills in one of the following languages: Perl, C/C++, or Phyton;
• Experience with analytic tools such as R or Matlab.;
• Motivation to solve complex biological problems especially in the field of epigenomics and experience in productively working in an interdisciplinary environment;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Highly motivated and self-driven to address challenging questions in the field of epigenomics.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow: Molecular Epigenetics

We are seeking a wet-lab postdoctoral fellow to work under the direct supervision of Dr. Daniel De Carvalho at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre - University of Toronto. The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre ranks as one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world, consistently publishing high impact discoveries and acting as a world leader in several cancer-related research fields.

This project will focus on study the molecular mechanisms driving the recruitment of EZH2 to the chromatin in ES cells and in Cancer. Our Lab is using and developing cutting edge experimental and computational methods based on molecular biology and next-generation sequencing. Candidates with strong background in epigenetics, genomics and molecular biology are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications:
• A recent Ph.D in molecular biology/epigenetics-related studies;
• Knowledge of epigenetics, genomics, genetics and ES cell biology would be an asset;
• Background in ChIP-sequencing is a definite asset;
• Demonstrated excellent publication record of scientific achievement;
• Experience with analytic tools such as R or Matlab.;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Highly motivated and self-driven to address challenging questions in the field of epigenomics.
